Headband Hassle

Ok - I just HAD to post these pictures for all you out there ( mainly my Dad & brother - oh and lets not forget COMPLETE STRANGERS!!) who are constantly complaining about me putting these headbands with bows on Lexi. I get comments ALL the time like: "dont you think those things are too tight" or "I bet if it was up to her she wouldn't wear those" or "arent you afraid that cuts off her circulation" - just to name a few. So to all of you non-believers, these are just a few pics on three different occasions (notice the different attire) where Lexi herself FILLED her head with these bands. I can count at least FIFTEEN on her head in the last two pics. So - I think its safe to say if she loads her own head up with as many as fifteen bands - and yes she did this all on her own - I dont think one band with a bow bothers her a bit!!

Grandparents Day

I took the girls to have their picture made for my mom & dad for Grandparents Day and, while from the big smile on Lexi's face, you would think she was totally cooperative: DONT BE FOOLED!! She was like a crazy little monkey. She would not sit still - just wanted to play with all the props and run around!! So - while I thought it would be difficult to narrow the pictures down, in reality we were LUCKY to get this ONE SHOT. Literally, this is the only shot of forty or more they took where she was looking at the camera and smiling at the same time!!

Lexi goes to Preshool

I decided to send Lexi to a little prescool a few miles from our house. I know she is young but I just felt like she needed the social interaction with other kids her age. It was hard convincing her daddy, seeing as I am not working. And even I myself kept weighing the pros and cons. However, we had a little extra push to help us make our decision when we found out we were expecting again. I decided that when the baby came, it would at least give me some one on one time with him while Lexi is at school. Also, I think it will be good for Lexi to be away from the baby doing her own thing for a few hours everyday, considering it is going to be such a big adjustment for her anyhow. Maybe this way she will not feel as shunned by mommy tending to the new addition, as we all know how much attention newborns require in the beginning. (HOPEFULLY!!) Anyway - she was actually very excited and was such a big girl. She was especially excited about her "big girl backpack". I was afraid we might have problems with her staying when we arrived but she just got right on out of the car like a champ. I think it was harder for me to be separated from Her ]: I guess I should be glad she was such a big girl but frankly it was a little hard to swallow!! Hopefully she will continue to enjoy it.

Lexi's first beach trip!!!

Lexi coming down the boardwalk for the first time. She looks so grown, as if she knows just what she is doing with her little sand buckets in toe. So Sweet!!!

When she finally made touchdown, she wasn't so sure about the sand, especially the really dry stuff. She preferred the wet, packed down sand. I think it made her feel more like she was on stable ground. She seemed to like the ocean itself pretty good. She even rode a few small waves!!

Now its time to PLAY in the sand!! Still not sure of the dry sand we had to trick her by putting her on a towel. She absolutely REFUSED to sit on the sand directly. However, as long as she was on the towel, she LOVED playing in the sand. She especially liked watching the seagulls as they would fly down and walk near her. That is what she is pointing to in the last two photos here.

These are just a few shots of Lexi and her NaNA by the water that I thought were sweet. You can see in her face this is towards the end of the day. She looks so tired and drained form being in the HOT SUN, but still having a good time!!!!

We can't even bounce without having to
take a blankie break!!

Fun in the bouncer with Luke and Amanda

Fun in the bouncer with Kimberly

Lexi wearing Luke's goggles - how funny!!!

Jaiden had a Nemo swimming party for his 2nd birthday. They also had a small bouncer set up for the kids so there was plenty to do. It was alot of fun and it was great getting to see this side of the family. We don't get to see them near as much now that we don't live quite as close anymore. Thank goodness for birthdays and holidays - otherwise we might not ever get to see them!!

She Wants To Be Like The BIG Girls Already!!

It is amazing to me just how soon these kind of things actually start. Lexi is definitely used to wearing her headbands with a bow attached but when I try to clip just a small bow in her hair without the band - she will not have it!! However - as you can see below, if the BIG girls are doing it, she can too. I mean she will not even let me clip ONE bow in her hair any other day but here I can count at least SEVEN!! And believe it or not Kaity was the first to want to take them out - Lexi had no problem with it as long as the other girls had them in too. In the last picture you can also see where she has on Kayla's shirt and Kaity's shoes. She thought she was big stuff getting to wear their stuff around the house!! Right now I think it is cute she wants to be like the bigger girls, but I know I probably won't not too far in the future.
